Pattie Boden, the owner of Animal Connection, partnered with Three Notch’d Brewing Company and Hardywood Park Craft Brewery on the “Big Dawg Blonde Ale,” a beer collaboration benefitting the Charlottesville Albemarle SPCA.

The “Big Dawg Blonde Ale” was tapped in late September at Three Notch’d to celebrate “Dog Fest,” CVille’s most fun outdoor party for dogs. $1 of every pint was allocated to the Charlottesville Albemarle SPCA.

In total, the “Big Dawg Blonde Ale” raised $2,000 for the CASPCA. The $2,000 was a new fundraising record for a charitable beer collaboration at Three Notch’d.

“This is just amazing! The cost of care for us to take care of one animal each day is $25,” said Angie Gunter, the executive director of the CASPCA. “So, $2,000 literally saves the lives of 80 animals. This is just amazing for us. We are truly grateful!”

Pattie Boden had an idea for an outdoor dog party. Her idea evolved into “Dog Fest,” an annual festival celebrating dogs in Central Virginia. Pattie later brainstormed and integrated the “Big Dawg Blonde Ale” collaboration into “Dog Fest” to further support the SPCA.

As a result of Pattie’s entrepreneurial spirit, and thanks to the genius recipe from Brewmaster Dave Warwick and the generosity of Three Notch’d, we saved 80 animals in Charlottesville, Virginia by HAVING A PARTY AND DRINKING BEER!!!
